Florida Truck Permit

Photo of On the Go Transportation [Major] [Minor] and TX Oversize Permits
The heavy-duty vehicles and loads associateded with commercial trucking services are ultimately required to, under the Act 300 of Michigan Vehicle Code (MVC) of Public Acts of 1949, execute their business as per the limits as established by this Act. The vehicles and loads that can not be lessened in their size and can not be transported other than by road are required to obtain permits from the reigon’s local Department of Transportation (DOT). All transportation permits must be obtained from State Transport Authorities by any individual or organization involved in commercial trucking services if they transport loads more than just normal legal limits. You can get more relevant information about the legally-permitted sizes of vehicles and types of transportation permits available from your local department of transportation.

Temporary operation permits have been issued since 1992. If a business only needs a permit to operate over a designated period, Temporary Testing, Demonstration, and Temporary Operation Permits may be required. You can attain them from all the outlets of Auto plan and any government inspection stations (weigh scales). You are permitted to perform general transportation activities for anywhere from one day to two weeks through this permit, but there are certain stipulations to use this permit for commercial activities.

Vehicles and trucks that are carrying loads of excessive size or weight beyond legal limits and are busy in operating transportation tasks on public highways are obligated to obtain oversize permits when their loads that can not be decreased in size. These permits are obtained upon written appeal from the Commercial Transport section of Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement Branch. Oversize permits are available not only for the vehicles or loads that are 4.4 meters wide, but also for wider vehicles also. The specifics of the commodity being transported along with reasons of non-reducible size must be provided with the application of the permit.

Oversize permits are also released on the basis of axle size of the vehicle, as there are certain restrictions on the load-per-axle to assess the need of this transportation permit. A load that goes above the limit per-axle is considered as over-weighted or oversized, instead of considering the overall weight of the load. Suppose your commercial vehicle transports construction machinery, pre-built homes, construction materials, or containers. It’s weight boundaries are then calculated on weight limits per-axle to become eligible for this permit.
