Image of On the Go Transportation [Major] [Minor] and Hazardous Materials Permits
The heavy-duty vehicles and loads associateded with commercial trucking services are generally required to, under the Act 300 of Michigan Vehicle Code (MVC) of Public Acts of 1949, act out their business as per the limits as established by this Act. The vehicles and loads that can not be reduced in their size and can not be transported other than by road are demanded to obtain permits from the reigon’s local Department of Transportation (DOT). All transportation permits should be obtained from State Transport Authorities by any individual or organization involved in commercial trucking services if they transport loads over normal legal limits. You can get more details about the legally-permitted sizes of vehicles and forms of transportation permits provided from your local department of transportation.

Temporary operation permits have been issued since 1992. If a business only needs a permit to operate over a designated time period, Temporary Testing, Demonstration, and Temporary Operation Permits may be required. You can obtain them from all the outlets of Auto plan and any government inspection stations (weigh scales). You are permitted to perform general transportation activities for anywhere from 1 day to two weeks with this permit, but there are certain restrictions to use this permit for commercial activities.

Oversize permits are also assigned on the basis of axle size of the auto, as there are certain limits on the load-per-axle to assess the need of this transportation permit. A load that exceeds the limit per-axle is considered as over-weighted or oversized, instead of considering the overall weight of the load. Suppose your commercial vehicle transports construction machinery, pre-built homes, construction materials, or containers. It’s weight limits are then depended weight limits per-axle to become eligible for this permit.
