The heavy-duty vehicles and loads associateded with commercial trucking services are generally required to, under the Act 300 of Michigan Vehicle Code (MVC) of Public Acts of 1949, perform their business as per the limitations as established by this Act. The vehicles and loads that can not be lessened in their size and can not be transported other than by road are required to obtain permits from the reigon’s local Department of Transportation (DOT). All transportation permits must be obtained from State Transport Authorities by any individual or organization involved in commercial trucking services if they transport loads greater than normal legal limits. You can get more related information about the legally-permitted sizes of vehicles and kinds of transportation permits attainable from your local department of transportation.

Temporary operation permits have been released since 1992. If a business only needs a permit to operate over a designated time period, Temporary Testing, Demonstration, and Temporary Operation Permits may be required. You can attain them from all the outlets of Auto plan and any government inspection stations (weigh scales). You are allowed to perform general transportation ventures for anywhere from one day to two weeks using this permit, but there are certain stipulations to use this permit for commercial activities.

A load that goes over the limit per-axle is considered as being over-weighted or oversized, instead of considering the overall weight of the load. Suppose your commercial vehicle transports construction machinery, pre-built homes, construction materials, or containers. It’s weight restricts are then relied on weight limits per-axle to be eligible for this permit.
