New Mexico Temporary Permit

Photo of On the Go Transportation [Major] [Minor] and Oversize Load Permit
The heavy-duty vehicles and loads involved in commercial trucking services are generally required to, under the Act 300 of Michigan Vehicle Code (MVC) of Public Acts of 1949, produce their business as per the limits as established by this Act. The vehicles and loads that can not be lowered in their size and can not be transported other than by road are asked to obtain permits from the reigon’s local Department of Transportation (DOT). All transportation permits will need to be obtained from State Transport Authorities by any individual or organization involved in commercial trucking services if they transport loads over normal legal limits. You can get more relevant information about the legally-permitted sizes of vehicles and varieties of transportation permits obtainable from your local department of transportation.

Temporary operation permits have been issued since 1992. If a business only needs a permit to operate over a designated time period, Temporary Testing, Demonstration, and Temporary Operation Permits may be required. You can get them from all the outlets of Auto plan and any government inspection stations (weigh scales). You are allowed to perform general transportation ventures for anywhere from one day to two weeks with this permit, but there are certain limitations to use this permit for commercial activities.

Vehicles and trucks that are moving loads of excessive size or weight beyond legal limits and are busy in operating transportation tasks on public highways are mandated to obtain oversize permits when their loads that can not be reduced in size. These permits may be obtained upon written request from the Commercial Transport section of Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement Branch. Oversize permits are obtainable not only for the vehicles or loads that are 4.4 meters wide, but also for wider vehicles also. The particulars of the commodity being transported in addition to reasons of non-reducible size must be provided with the application of the permit.

Oversize permits are also issued on the basis of axle size of the truck, as there are certain limits on the load-per-axle to assess the need of the transportation permit. A load that goes over the limit per-axle is considered as being over-weighted or oversized, as opposed to considering the overall weight of the load. Suppose your commercial vehicle transports construction machinery, pre-built homes, construction materials, or containers. It’s weight boundaries are then depended weight limits per-axle to be eligible for this permit.
