New Mexico Wide Load Permit

Image of On the Go Transportation [Major] [Minor] and Temporary Permit
The heavy-duty vehicles and loads associateded with commercial trucking services are ultimately required to, under the Act 300 of Michigan Vehicle Code (MVC) of Public Acts of 1949, execute their business as per the constraints as established by this Act. The vehicles and loads that can not be lowered in their size and can not be transported other than by road are required to obtain permits from the reigon’s local Department of Transportation (DOT). All transportation permits will need to be obtained from State Transport Authorities by any individual or organization associateded with commercial trucking services if they transport loads over normal legal limits. You can get more details about the legally-permitted sizes of vehicles and types of transportation permits readily available from your local department of transportation.

Temporary operation permits have been provided since 1992. If a business only needs a permit to operate over a designated time period, Temporary Testing, Demonstration, and Temporary Operation Permits may be required. You can obtain them from all the outlets of Auto plan and any government inspection stations (weigh scales). You are permitted to perform general transportation projects for anywhere from 1 day to two weeks with this permit, but there are certain limitations to use this permit for commercial activities.

Vehicles and trucks that are moving loads of excessive size or weight above legal limits and are busy in operating transportation ventures on public highways are needed to obtain oversize permits when their loads that can not be decreased in size. These permits may be obtained upon written appeal from the Commercial Transport section of Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement Branch. Oversize permits are provided not only for the vehicles or loads that are 4.4 meters wide, but for wider vehicles also. The details of the commodity being transported along with reasons of non-reducible size have to be provided with the application of the permit.

Oversize permits are also given out on the basis of axle size of the car, as there are certain limitations on the load-per-axle to assess the need of the transportation permit. A load that goes beyond the limit per-axle is considered to be over-weighted or oversized, rather than considering the overall weight of the load. Suppose your commercial vehicle transports construction machinery, pre-built homes, construction materials, or containers. It’s weight boundaries are then calculated on weight limits per-axle to be eligible for this permit.
