Oklahoma Wide Load Permit

Picture of On the Go Transportation [Major] [Minor] and Temporary Permit
The heavy-duty vehicles and loads associateded with commercial trucking services are ultimately required to, under the Act 300 of Michigan Vehicle Code (MVC) of Public Acts of 1949, perform their business as per the limits as established by this Act. The vehicles and loads that can not be lessened in their size and can not be transported other than by road are required to obtain permits from the reigon’s local Department of Transportation (DOT). All transportation permits must be obtained from State Transport Authorities by any individual or organization associateded with commercial trucking services if they transport loads beyond normal legal limits. You can get more information about the legally-permitted sizes of vehicles and forms of transportation permits obtainable from your local department of transportation.

Temporary operation permits have been provided since 1992. If a business only needs a permit to operate over a designated period, Temporary Testing, Demonstration, and Temporary Operation Permits may be required. You can get them from all the outlets of Auto plan and any government inspection stations (weigh scales). You are enabled to perform general transportation tasks for anywhere from 1 day to two weeks through this permit, but there are certain restrictions to use this permit for commercial activities.

[Minor] – [Major] On The Go Transportation

Vehicles and trucks that are moving loads of excessive size or weight over legal limits and are busy in operating transportation tasks on public highways are required to obtain oversize permits when their loads that can not be reduced in size. These permits are obtained upon written application from the Commercial Transport section of Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement Branch. Oversize permits are provided not only for the vehicles or loads that are 4.4 meters wide, but for wider vehicles also. The details of the commodity being transported along with reasons of non-reducible size must be provided with the application of the permit.

Oversize permits are also issued on the basis of axle size of the vehicle, as there are certain limitations on the load-per-axle to assess the need of the transportation permit. A load that goes beyond the limit per-axle is considered to be over-weighted or oversized, rather than considering the overall weight of the load. Suppose your commercial vehicle transports construction machinery, pre-built homes, construction materials, or containers. It’s weight boundaries are then relied on weight limits per-axle to become eligible for this permit.
