West Virginia Truck Permit
The heavy-duty vehicles and loads associateded with commercial trucking services are ultimately required to, under the Act 300 of Michigan Vehicle Code (MVC) of Public Acts of 1949, act out their business as per the constraints as established by this Act. The vehicles and loads that can not be minimized in their size and can not be transported other than by road are asked to obtain permits from the reigon’s local Department of Transportation (DOT). All transportation permits will need to be obtained from State Transport Authorities by any individual or organization involved in commercial trucking services if they transport loads more than normal legal limits. You can get more information about the legally-permitted sizes of vehicles and kinds of transportation permits obtainable from your local department of transportation.
Temporary operation permits have been provided since 1992. If a business only needs a permit to operate over a designated period of time, Temporary Testing, Demonstration, and Temporary Operation Permits may be required. You can secure them from all the outlets of Auto plan and any government inspection stations (weigh scales). You are enabled to perform general transportation ventures for anywhere from 1 day to two weeks with this permit, but there are certain constraints to use this permit for commercial activities.

Vehicles and trucks that are hauling loads of excessive size or weight over legal limits and are busy in operating transportation activities on public highways are mandated to obtain oversize permits when their loads that can not be lowered in size. These permits are obtained upon written appeal from the Commercial Transport section of Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement Branch. Oversize permits are offered not only for the vehicles or loads that are 4.4 meters wide, but also for wider vehicles also. The specifics of the commodity being transported in addition to reasons of non-reducible size must be provided with the application of this permit.

Oversize permits are also released on the basis of axle size of the truck, as there are certain restrictions on the load-per-axle to assess the need of the transportation permit. A load that exceeds the limit per-axle is considered to be over-weighted or oversized, instead of considering the overall weight of the load. Suppose your commercial vehicle transports construction machinery, pre-built homes, construction materials, or containers. It’s weight caps are then relied on weight limits per-axle to become eligible for this permit.

A Wide load permit is required to be attained by pilot cars not exceeding 5,500 kg in gross vehicle weight, and are authorized for single commercial transportation when the length of load being transported exceeds 27.5 meter and width exceeds 3.2 meters. The pilot car will need to mount on its roof top a sign of Long Load, Wide Load or Oversize Load to warn other passing by vehicles. Oversize vehicles with loads of 3.2 meters width or below 3.5 meters width are exempted for this variety of transportation permit if they operate during daylight, but for wider loads this permit is mandatory.
