The heavy-duty vehicles and loads involved in commercial trucking services are ultimately required to, under the Act 300 of Michigan Vehicle Code (MVC) of Public Acts of 1949, execute their business as per the constraints as established by this Act. The vehicles and loads that can not be minimized in their size and can not be transported other than by road are asked to obtain permits from the reigon’s local Department of Transportation (DOT). All transportation permits have to be obtained from State Transport Authorities by any individual or organization associateded with commercial trucking services if they transport loads more than just normal legal limits. You can get more information about the legally-permitted sizes of vehicles and kinds of transportation permits available from your local department of transportation.

Temporary operation permits have been circulated since 1992. If a business only needs a permit to operate over a designated period of time, Temporary Testing, Demonstration, and Temporary Operation Permits may be required. You can acquire them from all the outlets of Auto plan and any government inspection stations (weigh scales). You are enabled to perform general transportation endeavors for anywhere from 1 day to two weeks with this permit, but there are certain regulations to use this permit for commercial activities.

Suppose your commercial vehicle transports construction machinery, pre-built homes, construction materials, or containers. It’s weight restricts are then calculated on weight limits per-axle to be eligible for this permit.
