New Hampshire Truck Permit
The heavy-duty vehicles and loads connecteded with commercial trucking services are ultimately required to, under the Act 300 of Michigan Vehicle Code (MVC) of Public Acts of 1949, perform their business as per the restrictions as established by this Act. The vehicles and loads that can not be minimized in their size and can not be transported other than by road are mandated to obtain permits from the reigon’s local Department of Transportation (DOT). All transportation permits will need to be obtained from State Transport Authorities by any individual or organization involved in commercial trucking services if they transport loads beyond normal legal limits. You can get more information about the legally-permitted sizes of vehicles and kinds of transportation permits readily available from your local department of transportation.
Temporary operation permits have been circulated since 1992. If a business only needs a permit to operate over a designated period, Temporary Testing, Demonstration, and Temporary Operation Permits may be required. You can get them from all the outlets of Auto plan and any government inspection stations (weigh scales). You are permitted to perform general transportation activities for anywhere from 1 day to two weeks using this permit, but there are certain restrictions to use this permit for commercial activities.

Vehicles and trucks that are delivering loads of excessive size or weight above legal limits and are busy in operating transportation activities on public highways are needed to obtain oversize permits when their loads that can not be minimized in size. These permits may be obtained upon written application from the Commercial Transport section of Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement Branch. Oversize permits are provided not only for the vehicles or loads that are 4.4 meters wide, but also for wider vehicles also. The particulars of the commodity being transported in addition to reasons of non-reducible size must be provided with the application of the permit.

Oversize permits are also assigned on the basis of axle size of the truck, as there are certain restrictions on the load-per-axle to assess the need concerning this transportation permit. A load that exceeds the limit per-axle is considered to be over-weighted or oversized, rather than considering the overall weight of the load. Suppose your commercial vehicle transports construction machinery, pre-built homes, construction materials, or containers. It’s weight boundaries are then calculated on weight limits per-axle to be eligible for this permit.

A Wide load permit is required to be received by pilot cars not exceeding 5,500 kg in gross vehicle weight, and are allowed for single commercial transportation when the length of load being transported exceeds 27.5 meter and width exceeds 3.2 meters. The pilot car needs to mount on its roof top a sign of Long Load, Wide Load or Oversize Load to warn other travelling by vehicles.
